Our Relentless Lover

I am currently sitting in the coffee shop that was my escape from school those first few months at George Fox. It was my oasis and my safe space. This coffee shop will hold a special place in my heart for that very reason. So here I sit, at the end of my first week of my fourth semester at Fox (crazy to think we are here already!) and I am feeling so blessed. My heart is full. I have overcome so many struggles the past two years and I am able to look back with a grateful heart for what all of it has brought me and taught me.

Today, I sit here with my bible, devotional books, countless journals, listening to worship music basking in awe of how much the Father loves me. It is so much more than I can fathom. Each good thing He has placed in my life is out of love. I get giddy when I think about that. I am able to see Jesus' love for me in all the good. He is the Relentless Lover who never gives up on us. How cool is that?! No matter what we do, He loves us relentlessly. What peace that brings my soul. He is a kind God.

I know that some people might find it harder to see the good, but it is there, I promise you! Look a little deeper and start listing all the things that bring you joy in your life - the little and the big stuff. If you truly believe that God is kind and He is good, you can find it. You will be surprised at the good you didn't even see before. I have always been a more negative and "glass half empty" person, but as God reveals Himself to me more and more, I try to see the silver lining in all circumstances, especially the hard ones. Most of the time there is good in the midst of the bad. You just have to be willing to look a little deeper for it. God is good. He is our Relentless Lover.
